Tribute to CDS General Bipin Rawat lost his life in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on Wednesday. 12 others have been confirmed dead in the incident. There were a total of 14 people on board. General Bipin Rawat’s untimely demise is an extremely irreparable loss for the Army. General Rawat had the qualities of the best leader. Decisive, courageous, brave, ability to take risks, and personally honest, to the end, extremely honest. He was a soldier who breathed Army and lived in the Army. The fact that he was picked up at the first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) was because he met all the requirements.
Moreover Very sad to hear of the tragic crash in which we have lost Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and other personnel from the Armed forces. My thoughts, my prayers and condolences are with the bereaved families. He had the calibre, he had the vision, and he had a heart to be the first CDS. He believed in things, he believed in the whole Army, the whole armed forces going on together. And he worked for it. took over as the 27th Army Chief on December 31, 2016 and as the first CDS on January 1, 2020.
