Lal Bahadur Shastri, The country is celebrating the 152nd birth anniversary of the “Father of the Nation” Mahatma Gandhi and the birthday of second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri. Tribute to second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri ji on his birth anniversary. His life based on the values and principles will always remain a source of inspiration for the countrymen. Born on October 2, 1904,He became the second Prime Minister of India from 1964 till 1966. He earlier was also in key positions in the first Indian PM Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet. Shastri, who was seen as a secularist, was a key figure during India’s independence movement along with Mahatma Gandhi. Shastri is also famously known for his slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan; He had led India in the war against Pakistan in 1965.

Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was the leader of farmers.

 Shastri ji  was also responsible for the White Revolution, a campaign that supported the production of milk. In 1965, he also promoted the Green Revolution in India with the aim of farmers; prosperity and to make India self-reliant in foodgrain production. Green Revolution remains the model operation in India that benefited the states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. He continues to inspire India’s farmers and soldiers; as he is the man behind the iconic slogan of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”.

His noble principles are globally relevant and give strength to millions.. He is a secularist who rejected the mixing of politics and religion; and he led the country during the war with Pakistan in 1965. During his tenure, the country faced an acute food shortage. He went on air to appeal to people to skip one meal a week.

Lal Bahadur Shastri ji  will always be our inspiration and role model.
