My dear Heera Family, as you all are aware that today is Engineers Day and many of you are engineers. Engineers play a crucial role in the development of India. I pay tribute to Sir M. Visvesvaraya on Engineer’s Day. On September 15, we celebrate Engineer’s Day to appreciate the contribution of engineers. The day is celebrated as a tribute to the first, and one of the greatest ever engineers hailing from India Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was accountable for the construction and consolidation of dams across India.

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was born on September 15, 1861, in Muddenahalli village in Karnataka. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya is considered a pioneer in the field of engineering in India. Visvesvaraya ji is credited with inventing the block system, automated doors that close the water overflows. Sir Visvesvaraya designed and patented the floodgates which were first installed at the Khadakwasla reservoir in Pune in 1903. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was recognized all over the world for his involvement in harnessing water resources, Visvesvaraya was accountable for the construction and consolidation of dams across India. He was also credited with formulating the Block System automatic gates that seal under the situation of a flood.
